There are many apps for video calling, some free, other charge a small amount, today we have IM Video.
Launched recently in the Apple app store, this new app brings video calling with VoiceIP to user on FACEBOOK and Facebook only completely free.
We hope Shape Services will keep updating this app to enable Video Calls to other IM programs such as Windows Messenger o Google Talk, for the time being we can use it with FB.
As a first look at the app, it seems very similar to his brother IM+ PRO, you can IM chat with Facebook user and receive push notification while the phone is on standby or busy.
The interface is very smooth and simple although they could make the buttons a bit bigger.
I tried Video calling a contact that uses the web based Facebook chat on PC, it starts calling and it seems like a good 5 minutes till it’s answered at the other end, sometimes it’s answered straight away.
So you’re in the app and chatting to someone with the usual IM interface, you make the call and a sort of new window opens (like a new window in safari) with the X to close it. Once the call has connected you have on the left top corner of the screen, below the X, a sort of signal bar, now I don’t know how the performance is with other users, but my signal bars go crazy up and down. Once it stabilizes you can see the cam on the other end and they can see you also, it can get a bit pixilated and choppy but they say that it’s because the network speed and bla bla bla... I personally think that it needs improving. Also there is a voice delay while VidCalling.
Anyways, once the call has been established and you can talk/see at both ends, it’s very often that it loses signal and conversation making it very frustrating, you might be talking and suddenly it freezes making it very difficult to keep the flow of the conversation.
My opinion:
It needs updating and has room for improvement. Make the video calls in full screen. Fix the choppiness and voice delay. Enable video chat with other IM clients (Just like IM+ Pro - msn, Gtalk, etc…)
We should keep an eye on this app; it might just get bigger very soon… Take advantage that it’s free and try it out.

Hay muchas aplicaciones para video llamada, algunos de forma gratuita, otros ahorras un poco, hoy vemos IM+ VIDEO.
Lanzado recientemente en la App Store de Apple, esta nueva aplicación trae video llamada con VozIP a usuarios en Facebook y solo FACEBOOK completamente gratis.
Esperemos que Shape Services lance actualizaciones de esta aplicación para permitir llamadas de vídeo a los programas de mensajería instantánea como Windows Messenger o Google, por el momento, podemos usarlo con el FB.
Con un primer vistazo a la aplicación, parece muy similar a su hermano IM + PRO, se puede chatear con usuarios de Facebook y recibir notificaciones push mientras el teléfono está en modo de espera o está ocupado.
La interfaz es muy suave y simple, aunque podrían hacer los botones un poco más grandes.
Traté de llamar a un contacto de video que utiliza la web basado en el chat de Facebook en el PC, comienza a llamar y parece pasar unos 5 minutos hasta que se conteste en el otro extremo, a veces lo cogen de inmediato.
Así que estás en la aplicación y charlas con alguien en la interfaz de mensajería instantánea habitual, al realizar la llamada se abre una especie de nueva ventana (como una nueva ventana en safari) con la X para cerrarla. Una vez que la llamada se ha conectado usted tiene en la esquina superior izquierda de la pantalla, debajo de la X, una especie de barra de la señal, ahora no sé cómo es el desempeño con otros usuarios, pero mi señal de las barras se vuelven locos de arriba a abajo. Una vez que se estabiliza se puede ver la cámara en el otro extremo y también te pueden ver, a veces puede verse un poco pixelado y entrecortado, pero dicen que es por la velocidad de la red y bla bla bla ... Personalmente, creo que necesita mejorar. También hay un retraso de voz mientras haces video llamada.
De todas formas, una vez que la llamada se ha establecido y se puede hablar / ver en ambos extremos, es muy a menudo que se pierde la señal y la conversación por lo que es muy frustrante, podría estar hablando y de repente se congela por lo que es muy difícil mantener el flujo de la conversación.
Mi opinión:
Se necesita una reforma y tiene margen de mejora. Hacer las llamadas de vídeo en pantalla completa. Arreglar los cortes y el retraso de voz. Activar el chat de vídeo con otros clientes de mensajería instantánea (IM + Al igual que Pro - MSN, Gtalk, etc ...)
Debemos mantener el ojo puesto con esta aplicación, sólo se hará mas grande... Tome ventaja de que es gratis y probarlo.
